Pumpkin Pie

Norma’s Notes
  • Every fall I make a pumpkin pie or two.  
  • Last fall I made pumpkin pie twice, once with canned pumpkin and once using Emily’s pie pumpkin that she got at the farmers market. You just can’t beat the taste of something made completely from scratch!  
  • Emily (age 3) had never tried pumpkin pie before and when she tasted it, she said “I think I like it”!
Ingredients 

1 single uncooked pie crust
2 cups mashed pumpkin
3/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon 
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground ginger 
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
3 eggs
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup milk
Whipped cream 

Directions

  1. Beat all ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Pour into pie crust and bake for   approximately 45 minutes.
  3. Chill and serve with whipped cream.
