Green Power Smoothie



Norma’s Notes 
  • Green smoothies can be made using whatever fruits and vegetables that you have on hand.
  • Make to individual taste preferences. 
  • Fresh or frozen produce can be used.
  • One full blender of fruits and vegetables yields 2 - 3 servings once blended.  
  • Mix it up by adding apples, oranges, celery, carrots, lettuce, fresh herbs, raspberries, blueberries or limes to the spinach. 
  • Extras can be refrigerated for the next day. 
  • Green smoothies are an excellent source of fibre and promote healthy hair, skin and nails.  
  • Start with half servings for the first few days to allow your digestive system to adjust to the increase in fibre.
Ingredients

1 banana - peeled
6 strawberries - stems removed
1/2 - 1 lemon - peeled
1 avocado - peeled
1/2 red pepper
1.5 cups water or coconut water
1/2 blender of spinach 

Instructions
  1. Cut produce into large pieces.
  2. Place all ingredients in a blender.
  3. Blend/chop until the mixture is completely liquified.
  4. Pour into tall glasses with straws and enjoy.
