Norma’s Notes
- Green smoothies can be made using whatever fruits and vegetables that you have on hand.
- Make to individual taste preferences.
- Fresh or frozen produce can be used.
- One full blender of fruits and vegetables yields 2 - 3 servings once blended.
- Mix it up by adding apples, oranges, celery, carrots, lettuce, fresh herbs, raspberries, blueberries or limes to the spinach.
- Extras can be refrigerated for the next day.
- Green smoothies are an excellent source of fibre and promote healthy hair, skin and nails.
- Start with half servings for the first few days to allow your digestive system to adjust to the increase in fibre.
Ingredients
1 banana - peeled
6 strawberries - stems removed
1/2 - 1 lemon - peeled
1 avocado - peeled
1/2 red pepper
1.5 cups water or coconut water
1/2 blender of spinach
Instructions
- Cut produce into large pieces.
- Place all ingredients in a blender.
- Blend/chop until the mixture is completely liquified.
- Pour into tall glasses with straws and enjoy.
