Lemon Gooey Cake, Gooey Cake
Norma’s Notes 
  • This is a quick dessert idea that is easy to make. 
  • It can also be frozen. 
  • You can use different cake flavours depending on your tastes. 
  • The lemon zest can be omitted. 
  • Delicious served warm with ice cream or cream. 
Ingredients
Bottom Layer
1 yellow cake mix 
1/2 cup melted butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Top Layer
1 - 8 oz package cream cheese
2 eggs
1 tsp lemon zest
4 cups icing sugar 
1 tsp vanilla 

Directions 
  1. Mix the cake mix powder with the melted butter, 2 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla. 
  2. Spread in the bottom of a greased 9x13” pan. 
  3. Beat all remaining ingredients together until smooth. 
  4. Pour over bottom layer and bake at 350 degrees until light golden brown, 38 - 40 minutes.
